About Me

Hello! So, my name is Hannah. I always feel really awkward when having to write something on my about page. I never know what to put and I always worry I’ll sound super dorky. But, I’ll give it my best shot.

I was born in Rhode Island, but raised in Arkansas. I hail from a small town, but have dreams of moving to a bigger city (preferably one where Walmart isn’t a hangout spot because it’s the only thing open past 9pm).

I graduated high school in 2013 and went on to attend Hendrix College, earning my Bachelor’s degree in German, with a minor in history. Now I know you’re probably thinking “A degree in German? That’s useless.” What can I say, I love the language and the culture. And I also think my degree isn’t a useless one. Studying German taught me a tremendous amount about how people communicate and interact (and a world about English surprisingly enough). It also gave me the opportunity to travel abroad for a semester, something which I will always consider one of the best learning experiences (and just experiences in general) I have ever had.

Since college, I have moved back home and currently still reside in my hometown in Arkansas. I know, not exactly the ideal situation, but I am trying to save up to make my dream of moving to a big city a reality. I have worked as a substitute teacher, ACT test proctor, and as a production, news, and website assistant at KTLO Radio. After seven months at KTLO, I changed positions to work as the station’s freelance website manager and graphics designer. I currently still work in that position and also have taken up substitute teaching again (both to earn an extra dollar and see if teaching is the route I want to take). I am also trying to get a career as a freelance writer (and/or digital artist/photographer – what can I say, I am still working out the kinks) started.

My other interests/hobbies include anything geeky (from Harry Potter to Lord of the Rings), reading (mostly fantasy or Jane Austen), drawing and digital art, binging an unhealthy amount of Netflix, running (not well), listening to music (check out my current tunes below!), traveling, and attending as many concerts as my wallet will allow.
